Agent denies Obertan quit claim

Gabriel Obertan's agent has moved to suppress speculation that the French winger wants to leave Manchester United as he doesn't believe he is good enough to make the grade at Old Trafford.

As January's transfer window drew to a close on Monday, it was reported that Obertan had handed in a transfer request, and wished to return home to a club in Ligue 1.

However, the player's agent, Karim Djaziri, insisted that the Frenchman had not handed in a transfer request and will be happy to stay at Old Trafford.

"I have read that Gabriel has handed in a transfer request, but no, he has not done this," Djaziri told skysports.com. "He is very happy at Manchester United and he doesn't want to leave. He is still learning and he knows he is not ready to be a regular starter in the team, but he is working hard to be a member of the first team."

Obertan's United career is yet to take off, and he began his time at Old Trafford with injury troubles, and has made just four league starts since joining in the summer of 2009. He scored his first goal in a November Champions League victory at Bursaspor.
